Founder

LtCol Pfeffer was born in Bay Shore, New York, and attended Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. LtCol Pfeffer entered Officer Candidate School (OCS) in January 2002. Upon completion of OCS and The Basic School, he attended the Field Artillery Officers Course in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

In 2003, 2nd Lieutenant Pfeffer reported to Sierra Battery, 5th Battalion, 10th Marines, and served as an artillery forward observer. In 2004, he reported to Echo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines. Echo Battery transitioned from artillery to provisional infantry, and Capt Pfeffer was assigned as a platoon commander. He subsequently deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as a provisional infantry platoon commander for the duration of the deployment. Upon his return, 1st Lieutenant Pfeffer was assigned as the Fire Direction Officer for Battery E, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines. While in this capacity, he deployed as part of Special Marine Air Ground Task Force Katrina Hurricane Relief in Slidell, Louisiana. Lieutenant Pfeffer also participated in numerous training events as the unit transitioned back to artillery.

In January 2006, he reported to the Marine Special Operations Advisor Group, Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC), where he served as an assistant logistics planner and as the Operational Readiness Exercise logistics coordinator. In this capacity, he coordinated, planned, and executed four exercises throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Following this assignment, Captain Pfeffer assumed duties as Assistant Team Leader, Marine Special Operations Team 5, 3D Marine Special Operations Battalion (MSOB). Captain Pfeffer deployed to Kenya in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and later to Afghanistan as the Assistant Team Leader in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The team deployed from May through December 2008. Upon returning from deployment, Captain Pfeffer was assigned as the Assistant Operations Officer for 3D MSOB while undergoing several months of therapy for injuries sustained during deployment. In February 2009, Captain Pfeffer was assigned as the Team Leader for Marine Special Operations Team 313, 3D Marine Special Operations Battalion, where he trained and developed the team’s capabilities for upcoming missions in Africa.

In December 2009, Captain Pfeffer moved from 3D MSOB to 2D MSOB for the upcoming Special Operations Task Force (SOTF) deployment in support of OEF in Afghanistan. Captain Pfeffer deployed as the Current Operations Officer for Special Operations Task Force 82 from December 2010 to July 2011. While in this capacity, he was responsible for developing standard operating procedures necessary to provide real-time reporting during Operation Enduring Freedom for SOTF-W. With 15 special operations teams under its authority, Captain Pfeffer was responsible for the training and operational oversight of teams covering two Regional Commands (RC-West and RC-Southwest). He provided higher headquarters with accurate and real-time operational reporting.

Captain Pfeffer reported to the Tactical Training Exercise Control Group (TTECG) at Twentynine Palms, California, in August 2011. He was initially assigned to the Motorized Operations Section due to his experience with small-unit tactics. Captain Pfeffer trained Marines in motorized operations tactics, techniques, and procedures. In January 2013, Major Pfeffer was assigned as the lead Fire Support instructor regarding Indirect Fires for TTECG. In this role, he was responsible for deconflicting, integrating, and coordinating all events for Exercise ENHANCED MOJAVE VIPER (EMV) and the INTEGRATED TRAINING EXERCISE (ITX).

In 2014, Major Pfeffer was selected to attend Marine Corps University, Command and Staff College. He graduated in June 2015 and received a Master’s Degree in Military Studies. During his year at Marine Corps University, Major Pfeffer was selected as a Special Operations Officer and changed his primary MOS from Artillery Officer to Special Operations Officer.

In June 2015, Major Pfeffer was assigned to MARSOC as Commander, Marine Special Operations Company I, 2D Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. From 2015 to 2017, Major Pfeffer conducted a training workup with the 127-man Marine Special Operations Company (MSOC) in preparation for a combat deployment to Iraq. In January 2017, the MSOC deployed to Erbil, Iraq, to conduct combat operations against the Islamic State. Upon arrival, the MSOC was tasked with clearing Western Mosul of the Islamic State and setting the conditions for peace and stability. After completing the clearance of Western Mosul, the MSOC was immediately re-tasked to clear Eastern Mosul. The MSOC redeployed to North Carolina in July 2017.

In October 2017, Major Pfeffer was assigned to MARSOC Headquarters as the Current Operations Officer, where he played a key role in force synchronization and managing the deployment cycle of the MSOCs.

In May 2018, Major Pfeffer was assigned as the Sensitive Activities Director for MARSOC Headquarters. In this capacity, he oversaw the management of Advanced Special Operations Skills, Sensitive Site Exploitation, Technical Surveillance Operations, Personnel Recovery, Special Operations Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Identity Management, and Unconventional Warfare. In October 2018, Major Pfeffer was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and continued serving as Sensitive Activities Director.

LtCol Pfeffer retired in April 2022 from Marine Special Operations Command.

He joined the Meritech Team as a Territory Manager in September 2022, quickly learning the product line and rising to become one of the top sales performers on the team.

In October 2024, he was promoted to Regional Sales Manager, where he currently oversees East Coast operations. He is presently ranked #1 in Sales, with year-to-date equipment sales exceeding $2.3 million and a 24.8% win rate.

Adam J. Baldwin is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and former U.S. Marine Raider with deep industry knowledge in concrete production and operational leadership. Born in Howell, Michigan, Adam’s foundation in hard work and discipline was built early — both as a four-time All-State high school wrestler with over 150 wins and as a teenager learning the concrete trade at his uncle’s plant.

Following high school, Adam served 11 years in the United States Marine Corps, including multiple combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. As a Marine Special Operations Raider, he specialized as a Scout Sniper and weapons expert, operating on elite teams within 2d Raider Battalion. After his military service, he continued to serve global interests as a mobile security operator for the U.S. State Department in Afghanistan.

Adam’s transition into entrepreneurship began with the launch of VEXEA MX, where he gained first-hand experience in global manufacturing, marketing, and brand development. He then founded TreeCraft LLC, a tree services company that became Eastern North Carolina’s top- rated and top-grossing provider, earning two nationally recognized Quality Business Awards. Under his leadership, TreeCraft achieved 7-figure revenue growth and was successfully sold in April 2025.

Returning to his roots in the concrete industry, Adam worked as a plant manager and driver for a national ready-mix company to deepen his understanding of current market needs and operations. Now, as the Founder and CEO of his own concrete production company, he brings a rare combination of hands-on industry experience, strategic leadership, and a proven track record of business success.

In addition to his personal expertise, Adam brings with him a trusted team of seasoned concrete industry professionals and operational managers, ensuring the company is built on a strong foundation of knowledge, execution, and leadership.

Gene Williams

COO / Plant Manager

Gene Williams brings decades of proven leadership, operational excellence, and deep local industry relationships to every project he’s involved in. A US Army veteran and former 82 nd Airborne Division Paratrooper, Gene learned early the importance of discipline, accountability, and teamwork- principles that have guided him through his entire professional career.

After completing a combat tour and transitioning from miliary service, Gene joined Quinn Wholesale Food Distribution, where he rose to Quality Control Manager for a large-scale operation of more than 500 employees, including oversight of 120 CDL drivers. As second in command, his responsibilities extended beyond quality control into logistics, fleet coordination, and operational efficiency. Gene spent 12 years in this role, helping maintain high standards until company ownership transitioned.

Gene later joined Quality Beverage as Area Manager for the Wilmington, NC location, further strengthening his leadership experience and expanding his network across southeastern North Carolina.

After relocating to Jacksonville, Gene entered the concrete industry with DPD Team Concrete, starting as a driver and earning rapid promotions to Plant Manager through performance and trust. He held this role for 10 years, overseeing daily plant operations, production quality, safety, scheduling, and customer relations. During this time, Gene built strong , long-standing relationships with local contractors, suppliers, and drivers, earning a reputation for dependability, fairness and doing things the right way.

After retiring from plant management, Gene planned to step away from day-to-day operations- but the right opportunity changed that. Gene chose to come out of retirement to join the GrayRock team because he believes in the company’s vision, leadership, and long-term commitment to building something meaningful in the communities he serves. He recognized in GrayRock the same values that have guided his career: integrity, accountability, safety, hard work, and doing things the right way- even when no one is watching.
